WOW! My walks in Pacheco Valle have been teeming with flora and fauna!
I have been feeling as though I am in a Disney Movie....
Today I witnessed 2 wild turkey families on an outing. Two moms with their children all in one group - one with 12 babies and the other with 13 babies. They were chirping, scurrying, eating and generally enjoying what they do best. Then I happened upon 3 ring tailed hawks landing in an oak tree (the oldest oak tree in Marin County). They sunned and squawked and were quite the majestic sight. Then a bright blue bellied lizard scurried across my path as a yellow swallowtail butterfly flew from tree to tree.
And, ofcourse, squirrels chirped and ran across the ground and up tree trunks jumping from limb to limb.
It was quite a 30 minute walk! All that was missing were all the animals breaking out in song! Actually I think I heard some singing in the recesses of my mind...My daily nature walk raises my FUNtelligence Quotient!
